A woman who hurled racial abuse at people and then threw furniture at police officers trying to arrest her has been jailed for six months.
Sadie Lauren Metcalf, 30, launched items including plant pots from a balcony in Scarborough after she had been witnessed shouting "obscenities" at passers-by.
The incident took place on Roscoe Street in the town on Saturday and North Yorkshire Police received reports of offensive and racist language being used.
Officers were met with "foul" abuse and a barrage of household furnishings including a shelving unit.
Metcalf, of Beulah Terrace, was detained and appeared at York Magistrates' Court on Monday.
She pleaded guilty to affray and three counts of causing racially aggravated alarm, harassment or distress.
Her prison sentence also included a six-week term for a separate offence of theft from a Sainsbury's supermarket in July.
