Tour of Britain in Northamptonshire: All you need to know

For the first time, Northamptonshire will host over 100 of the world's top male cyclists as the Tour of Britain rolls through the county.
The penultimate stage of the six-day 2024 Tour of Britain Men, external will take place on Saturday with the race concluding in Suffolk the following day.
After setting off in the Scottish Borders on Tuesday, the riders have gone wheel-to-wheel through County Durham and Yorkshire, and will ride through Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire before reaching Northamptonshire, with the final leg in Suffolk.
But what can you expect for the penultimate stage?
When and where does the final stage of the race begin?
The event starts at the University of Northampton at 11:00 BST on Saturday.
Fans can catch a glimpse of the cyclists and watch the team presentations on the podium from 09:50 BST.
What is the route?
The 91-mile (147km) route will take riders through some of Northamptonshire’s most scenic areas, starting south from the University and passing through Nobottle, Whilton Locks, and Newnham Hill.
Newnham Hill and Bulls Hill are designated King of the Mountains climbs.
The race will also pass through Daventry and nearby villages such as Abthorpe, Wappenham, and Brixworth, before finishing at Northampton's Guildhall, where riders are expected to cross the line between 14:23 BST and 15:05 BST.
Following the West Northamptonshire stage, the race concludes in Suffolk on Sunday.
What road closures are in place?
West Northamptonshire Council has announced road closures along the route, with a rolling closure in place, external about 15 minutes before the riders' arrival and lasting until 10 minutes after the final cyclist passes.
