A thirteenth arrest has been made over a double shooting in Leicester.

A 23-year-old man, from Leicester, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder after two men were shot in Evington Road in November 2023.

The pair had been walking near the junction with Chepstow Road at 11:20 GMT on 22 November when they were injured and required hospital treatment, Leicestershire Police said.

Four men had previously been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a further eight men had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

All have been released on bail pending further inquires, the force added.

Temporary Det Ch Insp Hazel Sandall said: "While it is 18 months since this incident happened, our detailed and proactive inquiries are continuing and our investigation very much remains ongoing."
