A serving police officer has appeared in court and denied sexual assault.

Det Sgt Mike Robinson, from Bedfordshire Police, has been suspended from duties since the alleged incident on 22 March, when he was off duty, the force said.

He appeared at Luton Magistrates' Court last month and pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault and one count of common assault.

He maintained his plea at Luton Crown Court earlier, where a trial date was set for Aylesbury Crown Court on 6 October 2025 with a pre-trial hearing on 17 September next year.
