Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old man after a van was "intentionally driven" at the victim.

The man was hit by the the van shortly before 23:35 GMT on Friday on Myton Way, in Ingleby Barwick, in Stockton-on-Tees.

Cleveland Police said two other people were "seriously injured" in the suspected attack.

A 29-year-old man and a 66-year-old man, both from Ingleby Barwick, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers believe that a white Citroen Berlingo van was intentionally driven towards a group of people on the footpath near the junction with Myton Way and The Rings.

The driver left the scene before officers arrived.

The van that was believed to have been involved in the attack was found abandoned nearby.

Cleveland Police said: "There is nothing to suggest this is a terror-related incident."
