A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a double stabbing in Nottingham.

Police were called to reports of a fight in Wilford Street, in the city centre, just before 04:00 BST on Sunday.

Two people were taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Derby on Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder, the force said.

He remains in custody while inquiries are ongoing, police said.

Five other men, aged 24, 32, 35, 37, and 40, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Sunday and then released on bail.

The force has asked anyone with information or footage that may help with their investigation to get in touch.
