A 20-year-old man suffered serious head injuries

A man suffered serious injuries after hitting a wall when he lost control of the modified mountain bike he was riding, police have said.

The collision happened on Whitechapel Road, heading towards Bradford Road, in Cleckheaton on Saturday at about 22:45 BST, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Officers said the 20-year-old was riding a pedal-powered bike that had been adapted with a battery pack.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
