Long delays on M6 after soil and sewage spill

National Highways North West said the incident caused long delays

Drivers faced long delays on the M6 in Cheshire after soil and sewage fell from a heavy goods vehicle.
Two northbound lanes were closed earlier between junctions 19 for Knutsford and 20 for the Lymm Interchange, National Highways said.
A specialist clean-up team cleared the spill, resulting in the reopening of those two lanes, as well as the link road from junction 20 to the westbound M56's junction 9 near Stretton and the A50.
National Highways warned there were still hour-long delays in the area with 10 miles of congestion on the M6 stretching back to near junction 18 for Holmes Chapel.
