Man admits pub attack with corrosive substance

A 22-year-old man has admitted attacking a man outside a pub with a corrosive substance.

Alfie Russell, from Clifton Road, Hornchurch, in London, pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday to causing actual bodily harm.

Adam Tickner previously said he was at Ye Arrow on Boley Hill in Rochester, Kent, on 13 September when was attacked, leaving him with burns to his face, eyes, mouth and throat.

Russell was bailed ahead of a sentencing hearing, expected to take place in January.

Kent Police said a 23-year-old man from Wickford, Essex, a 19-year-old man from Purfleet-on-Thames, and a 21-year-old man from Upminster that officers previously arrested over the incident remain on bail.

The force said it was called to the "disturbance" at Ye Arrow on Rochester High Street at 22:15 BST on 13 September.
