Wiltshire in pictures: Sunflowers and rain play
- Published
With summer feeling very much over this week and autumn here - according to the meteorological calendar - the rain hasn't been able to dampen spirits too much in Wiltshire.
From four young tiger cubs at Longleat determined to still get outside and sunflowers in Corsham providing some colour on the grey days.
And there has even been a Royal visit to keep people smiling.
Brightening the grey: These late flowering sunflowers at Boyd Farm in Gastard near Corsham were planted when the wet weather in the late spring caused a crop failure. They now provide a stark contrast to the cloudy skies behind.
Rain doesn't stop play: These four rare tigers cubs have been exploring a new area of their outside enclosure at Longleat for the first time. The cubs were introduced to their outdoor paddock in August and now keepers have started the process of preparing them to meet guests in the drive-through Tiger Territory.
A royal smile: Queen Camilla officially opened a new cancer centre at an NHS trust in Bath on Tuesday. After meeting with patients from Wiltshire and Somerset she went to the village of Lacock, where an egg company was opening a new HQ.
Red sky in the morning: This beautiful sunrise was captured on Wednesday in Wroughton... it may have been a warning of what the weather had in store at the end of the week.
Taking shape: This stained glass window on the grand stair case at Trowbridge Town Hall is a well-known feature. The building is beginning to take shape as a £9m refurbishment reaches its final stage.
A helping hand: Salisbury Guildhall hosted an event on Thursday, called Thriving on a Shoestring. It was designed to give people ideas and tips over how to "thrive" on a limited budget. Local chefs gave cooking demonstrations and advice about how to make the most of leftovers.
