Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle, Guernsey Police has said.

Officers said a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were arrested on Monday.

Police said they received reports of a man entering and attempting to enter vehicles in private driveways in Guernsey.

Officer urged people to lock vehicles and not leave valuables on display.

A Guernsey Police spokesperson said: "Too many islanders still leave cash visible or in the centre console of their cars.

"Crimes like these are opportunistic and by taking the opportunities away we can prevent further thefts from happening.

"This is a good opportunity for us to remind islanders not to leave valuables or cash in their vehicles, and not to leave them unlocked.
