Plans to roll out new 20mph zones have been announced as part of a major revamp of the town centre in Berkeley, Gloucestershire.
Under the proposals, the new speed limits will be introduced in what have been described as "key areas", including Salter Street, Marybrook Street and Canonbury Street.
Changes to parking and raised crossing points are also being considered.
The local town council is now consulting on the plans.
Councillors have also proposed changes to road layouts to make them safer for pedestrians and motorists.
A council spokesperson said: "We would like to hear your views on the second phase of our ideas to improve the Town Centre via a short survey, external."
Stroud District Council has awarded Berkeley Town Council £40,000 to fund the next stage of the project.
