Two boys aged 13 and 14 have been arrested and charged after a derelict cinema building in Fife was set on fire.

Four fire crews extinguished the blaze after being called to the scene at Bank Street in Lochgelly last Friday afternoon.

Police Scotland said it believed the fire had been started deliberately and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A force spokesperson said the teenagers would now be reported to the relevant youth justice authorities.

Insp Carley Marshall said: "Fires started deliberately can have a significant impact on local communities, causing major disruption.

"I would ask anyone with information about wilful fire-raisings in their area to report it to us, external."
