A man from Shropshire has been charged after violence broke out in Southport following the death of three girls.

Rory Allington-Mott, 34, from Newport, was the 44th person to be charged by Merseyside Police on Saturday.

He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with violent disorder and is due at Liverpool Crown Court on 23 August.

The force has said there are now 75 people who have been arrested in connection with the disorder.
