A third man has been charged with attempted murder following disorder which left four people injured in Walsall.

One man was shot and three others sustained stab wounds in the attack on Reedswood Lane, Birchills, at about midnight on 31 July.

Khuram Sajad, 22, has been charged with five counts of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon, West Midlands Police said.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court later.

Two other men, aged 36 and 20, appeared in court on Wednesday accused of the same offences.

The pair are due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 18 September.

Police had been called to the Birchills area last month following reports of fighting and a gun being fired at a car.

A number of arrests had been made in connection with the disorder and inquiries were ongoing, a police spokesperson said.
