A man has been charged over a crash on the M20 in which a football coach died.

Arran McManus, 36, a coach at Kennington Football Club, was killed when two lorries and a Nissan Qashqai were involved in a crash near Lenham, Kent, on 25 November.

Zvonko Tomisa, 57, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He was remanded in custody and is to next appear at Maidstone Crown Court in January.

In a statement, Mr McManus' family described him as their "whole life and more".

A GoFundMe page launched to raise funds for his family has reached more than £10,000.

Kennington Football Club said he was in his fifth year as a coach, having joined when his son was a member of the under-eight side.

It said he was "patient, kind, thoughtful, and inspiring, with an infectious enthusiasm for coaching and helping people".

"We were all excited to see where this journey would lead him and we're left numb and in shock that he won't get to see it through," a club spokesperson added.

"Arran's passion and values will live on in the players he inspired. Arran was so loved and will be dearly missed.

"All at Kennington Juniors send our thoughts and love to Arran's family, his team, and everyone impacted by his loss."
