A pedestrian has been seriously injured following a hit and run collision.

The incident happened on Wisbech Road at the junction of Hunchback Lane, West Walton in Norfolk on Saturday between 21:30 and 21:45 BST.

A blue Renault Megane Scenic car hit a pedestrian and failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where he remains while another man in his 30s has been arrested.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop and no insurance.

He is being questioned at King's Lynn Police Investigation Centre.

Road closures were in place on Saturday from Wisbech Road to West Walton while the emergency services worked. They have since been lifted.
