Detectives have released an image of a possible witness's vehicle after a fatal crash involving a 79-year-old on a mobility scooter.

Hertfordshire Police has reassured potential witnesses they "are not in trouble" after releasing a picture of a white Kia Sportage Mark 4, produced between 2015 and 2020.

The crash took place on 15 August on the traffic light-controlled crossing by the shopping centre on Queensway, Hatfield, at about 09:00 BST. Keith Whiting died at the scene.

Det Sgt Ben Heath said police believed the occupants of the Sportage could help them with their investigation.

Mr Whiting was described as a "loved father, grandfather, uncle and brother" after he died.

Det Sgt Heath said: "Our thoughts remain with Keith’s loved ones at this difficult time, and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward.

"We suspect that the driver or occupants of the white Kia may have witnessed the collision, and we would like them to please come forward to assist the investigation.

"I would like to make it clear that the occupants are not in trouble, but we think they may have key information to help our inquiries and wish to speak with them."
