Murder inquiry ends after 87-year-old suspect dies

An 87-year-old murder suspect has died, nine months after he was arrested over the death of an 82-year-old woman, police have said.

Detectives were called shortly before 02:30 BST on 22 April 2024 to an address in Rosemary Way in Waterlooville.

The woman was pronounced dead at the property. The man, from Waterlooville, was arrested and later conditionally bailed.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the murder inquiry had concluded with the suspect's death.
