Director of Dales visitor attraction dies aged 48

The director of a popular Yorkshire Dales visitor attraction, Leo Morris, has died aged 48.

Mr Morris, who was the chief operating officer of The Forbidden Corner in Coverham, died on 27 December.

A spokesperson for the company said his death was an "immense loss" to the business and all who knew him.

In a statement, Mr Morris was described as "a mentor, a confidant, and a friend to many", whose absence would be "deeply felt" on the Tupgill Estate and in the local area.

Morris was appointed as director of the attraction in 2021.

"His dedication, vision, and love of Tupgill Estate helped steer our company through pivotal moments, leaving an indelible mark on our journey and our values," the statement read.

"As COO, Leo's contributions extended far beyond his professional duties; he inspired us with his unwavering commitment, compassionate leadership, and infectious enthusiasm."

A funeral service for Mr Morris will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Coverham on Monday.
