A teenager has been arrested after a man was robbed and dragged under a car.

The 16-year-old boy was held in connection with the robbery, which happened outside the Family Shopper store on Overdale Road in Park End, Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police said two other boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested but later released with no further action.

The 51-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected broken leg.

A spokesman for the force said: "A group of males who were outside the shop approached the man inside his black Skoda and proceeded to grab cash from him.

"He was dragged under his vehicle in the struggle, where it rolled back over his leg, causing a suspected break."

It happened at about 15:40 BST on Tuesday, police said.

Detectives have appealed for information.
