A running track is set to reopen after undergoing a refurbishment ahead of an athletics competition.
Hull City Council said people would be able to use the track at Costello Stadium, in Anlaby Park Road North, Hull, from Sunday.
The refurbishment included a surface respray and deep clean, as well as repairs and a new surface overspray, while the long jump and pole-vault, track protection running rails and sand pits areas have also been updated.
The track reopened ahead of in time for the Kingston Upon Hull Athletics Club and Humberside Athletics Association competition this weekend.
Councillor Rob Pritchard said the track and stadium, which opened in 1985, was last refurbished 20 years ago.
"We're pleased to have invested in the facility for visitors to enjoy for many years to come," he said.
John Brant, Kingston Upon Hull Athletics Club coach said: "This inter-county match, which is open to the public, reflects the commitment that Hull City Council has towards track and field in the city.
"Look out for more prestigious fixtures planned for 2026 in the stadium."
The work started earlier this year after being funded by the council's capital programme from the Corporate Building Maintenance allocation.
People will also now be able to track their running as SMART training has been installed, which can be used alongside a smart phone placed in a running belt.
