Probe launched into 'vile' racist graffiti in park

- Published
An investigation has been launched after racist graffiti was daubed in a town's park.
Suffolk Police said the racially aggravated criminal damage was caused in the park on Acton Lane, Sudbury, on Tuesday using black spray paint.
Hayley Anderson, who lives in the area, said she and her son spent the afternoon scrubbing some of the "vile" graffiti off the path.
Sudbury Town Council's warden team also helped clean the area, "given the highly offensive nature of the graffiti".
"As of this afternoon, the graffiti has been removed by our team and the offence has been reported to the relevant authorities," a spokesperson said.
Babergh District Council said it would "not tolerate anti-social behaviour and vandalism".
A spokesperson said: "We will do everything in our power to help to keep Suffolk a safe place to live, work and visit.
"We need people to report it when it happens so we can continue to work with partners, including Suffolk Police, to tackle anti-social behaviour in all its forms."
