Emergency powers brought in after 'targeted attack'

Police have brought in emergency stop and search powers after a man was knocked down by a car.
Greater Manchester Police said a 24-year-old was being chased by a group of men when he was hit in Moston in what police believe was a targeted attack.
A 31 year-old has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a road traffic collision.
The Section 60 order covers an area across Moston and Monsall.
It gives officers extra powers to stop and search people in the areas until just before 17:00BST on Saturday.
"This incident... will understandably cause concern in Manchester and happened in a busy shopping area, so we know there are key witnesses that saw what happened unfold," said Det Insp Paddy Connell.
