A "fully-immersive" Christmas event designed to conjure the magic of Lapland is set to open its doors in Cheshire.

LaplandUK Manchester hopes to brings the story of Father Christmas to life through an interactive journey, according to organisers.

The theatrical experience lasts more than four hours and includes an Enchanted Forest, toy-making, gingerbread decorating and a meeting with Father Christmas.

The site near Macclesfield is the company's second, having hosted an event at Swinley Forest, Ascot, since 2007.

Where is LaplandUK Manchester?

The event takes place at Capesthorne Hall on Congleton Rd, Siddington.

It is just over an hour from Manchester city centre by car or by public transport.

There is on-site parking and each booking includes a parking space.

How much does it cost?

LaplandUK will runs from 8 November to 24 December, with tickets ranging from £60 to £195. There are premium prices for weekends and those closer to Christmas Eve.

In total, 350,000 tickets are available. Most have sold out but details of any packages still available, and returns, are available on the company's website.

What's included in the price?

Children receive an invitation to Lapland from Father Christmas requesting their help in his toyshop.

During the visit they make toys in the factory with the elves and bake gingerbread with Mother Christmas.

They can also go ice skating and write letters to Father Christmas, before meeting him and receiving a toy.

What are the opening times?

Tours begin daily at 08:00 GMT and run every half hour, with the last tour departing at 18:00 GMT.

Visitors are advised that the time they have booked is the time their tour departs and are recommend to arrive 30 minutes beforehand.
