McDonald's seeks views on new Surrey restaurant

Residents are being asked for their views on plans from McDonald's to open a new Surrey restaurant.
A former Loch Fyne restaurant in Cobham is the proposed site for the new diner, which will not offer a drive through.
The burger chain is in the early stages of plans for the Portsmouth Road site before it submits its bid to Elmbridge Borough Council, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A consultation runs until 23 May.
Transport studies carried out by McDonald's showed vehicle movements associated with the restaurant will be 49 cars during morning peak times, 86 during the afternoon/evening peak and 88 during the Saturday lunchtime peak.
The company said there was "an identified demand for McDonald’s in the area" and that it has "long wanted" to open a restaurant in Cobham
The Portsmouth Road building, which is locally listed, is "falling into a state of disrepair", McDonald's said.
“Our proposals will sensitively restore this disused site back into an employment generating facility which is in keeping with its former use as a restaurant," the consultation site said.
Early plans say there would be space for 60 people to sit in, as well as takeaway.
The restaurant’s proposed opening hours are between 06:00 and midnight BST seven days a week.
