Laura Vennings hopes the sessions will help people talk about their grief and find support from others going through similar experiences

A new group offering a "welcoming, inclusive" space for people to share their experiences of grief has started.

Charity Sue Ryder has partnered with Dobbies Garden Centre Cafe in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire to create a Grief Kind Space every Monday morning from 10:00 BST.

The new service comes to Huntingdon after the success of other sessions in Girton, Peterborough, St Ives and Wisbech.

Area co-ordinator Laura Venning said she hoped it would make people dealing with grief "feel less alone".

"Quite often people feel they are a burden speaking about their grief to friends or family, but our Grief Kind Spaces help remove that feeling," she said.

"People can talk, listen to others who might be experiencing the same as them, and gain support, helping them to feel heard and less alone.

"Just drop in to receive a warm welcome from our team of trained volunteers, who are there to listen if you have experienced any kind of loss at any time."

The sessions are led by trained volunteers and can be joined without the need to book or sign up.
