An arson investigation is underway after a fire ripped through a disused building in Ellesmere Port.

No one is believed to have been injured after the fire at the former Groves social club, in Chester Road at about 18:50 BST on Friday, Cheshire Police said.

Det Con Sean Harris said: "The fire is being treated as arson and our investigation is ongoing to identify who was responsible."

Cheshire Police appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
