The A44's 50mph speed limit reduction will be extended to Steen's Bridge

A Herefordshire A-road's recent speed limit reduction will be extended after a previous 60mph cap was deemed "not appropriate".

Measures reducing to 50mph a section of the A44 between Leominster and Bromyard are to be extended westwards from Steen's Bridge.

In a Herefordshire Council report, officials agreed that the national limit was "not appropriate due to the poor visibility when pulling on to the A44 from the side roads”.

There were no objections to the measure, which from consultation to installation will cost about £15,000.

This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
