A man who died following an altercation has now been named by police.

Suffolk Police was called to reports of an assault on the Felixstowe seafront promenade by Undercliff Road West on Saturday at 21:20 BST.

The next day they were called to a property in Carr Road where where the injured man - now named as 25-year-old Charlie Stephen David Greaves from Ipswich - was found dead.

A 28-year-old man from Felixstowe was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.

He was released on bail with conditions to return to police on 7 October.

A Home Office post-mortem took place on Tuesday and preliminary results indicate the cause of death was a traumatic head injury, pending further investigation.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said it was believed Mr Greaves would have been seen with his dog - a brown and white Staffordshire bull terrier and boxer crossbreed - during the incident on Saturday evening.

Police continue to appeal for information.
