Attempted murder charge after e-bike rider shot

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a drive-by shooting that left an e-bike rider critically injured.

The victim was on the southbound carriageway of the A41 North Western Avenue near junction five in Watford on 25 July.

An incident occurred at about 17:20 BST involving the occupants of a black BMW, which then made off in the direction of the M1.

Hekmat Galmne, 26, of Eastern Avenue, Pinner, was charged with attempted murder on Wednesday.

He will remain in police custody until his next court appearance.

The victim's condition remains serious, but it is no longer considered to be life-threatening.
