Decorated tractors, historical re-enactments, Christmas services and a circus spectacular were just some of the images which have been captured by photographers out and about in Somerset.

Wells and Glastonbury Young Farmers Club raised more than £2,100 through its very first Christmas tractor run.

In total, 120 tractors joined the procession, all adorned with Christmas decorations.

The money raised will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Legion of the Stag, a battle re-enactment group based in Ilminster, have been captured by photographer Simon Plant as part of his project Life in a Somerset Landscape.

The group specialises in 12-14th Century history, performing at festivals, schools, and on television.

Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue's trainee rope rescue operators were being put through their paces at Cheddar Gorge.

The mountain rescue team, which has been operating in the region since 1975, works alongside the police, ambulance service, fire service and cave rescue.

Another Folly, ridden by Ciaran Gethings, was among the horses competing in the Handicap Chase at Wincanton Racecourse on Tuesday.

He eventually finished second, losing out to winner King Arise.

Elsewhere, this stunning double rainbow was captured by Josie Elias arcing in stormy skies above Somerset.

And finally this spectacular murmuration of starlings at sunset was captured by Carl Bovis at the RSPB Ham Wall reserve near Glastonbury.

The phenomenon is named after the noise that is made by the many flapping wings of a group of starlings in flight.
