Fattorini-designed site to become flats

The derelict building in Bradford has been empty for decades

A building designed by a family who became famous for providing jewellery to The Queen and designing football's FA Cup will be turned into 70 flats.
The derelict four-storey 28-32 Canal Road in Bradford's cathedral district conservation area was built in 1884 by the Fattorini family.
The renovation work is partly being funded by £1.8m from West Yorkshire Combined Authority's brownfield housing fund, a pot of cash that can be used to help regenerate long empty buildings or plots of brownfield land.
The fund has been used to help fund numerous developments in Leeds city centre in recent years.
Work on the building started in spring, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, and a shed-style structure in the centre of the site has been demolished.
The development is expected to be completed next year.
