Big wheel installed in city for Christmas period

The 115ft (35m) tall Wheel of Light has moved across Leicester as preparations for the festive period continue.
A crane placed the wheel in Jubilee Square on Tuesday ahead of its opening on Friday, after it lit up Belgrave Road for Diwali last month.
The wheel will remain until 5 January, along with the all-weather ice rink which is set to arrive on 5 December.
Leicester City Council has confirmed a catalogue of events which includes a new market and the annual Christmas lights switch-on, which will be held on 20 November.
A 49ft (15m) Christmas tree is set to be delivered in the second week of November and will be placed next to the clock tower, ahead of the lights switch-on event.
The authority said 16,000 low-energy lamps started going up in October, as 20 city centre streets are decorated.
The new Christmas market will be introduced in Gallowtree Gate, running from 14 November to 29 December and offering treats, gifts and festive food.
Assistant city mayor for culture, Vi Dempster, said: “Our lighting team is working hard to make sure that Leicester looks magical in time for our big switch-on.
"It’s always a great event, with thousands of people flocking into the city centre and lots going on to help everyone get into the festive spirit.
“Leicester has so much to offer, so whether you want to get your shopping done, celebrate with family and friends, or enjoy festive attractions like our ice rink, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas.”
