A teenager who was riding a motorcycle that was being pursued by police has died following a crash.

The 18-year-old was a passenger on the bike when it collided with a car on Harrogate Road in Bradford on 28 October.

West Yorkshire Police previously said the motorcycle had failed to stop for officers and a pursuit had been authorised shortly before the crash.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) confirmed that he died in hospital from his injuries on 6 November.

"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, as well as all those affected by this tragic incident," a spokesperson said.

"IOPC investigators have begun the process of gathering and reviewing evidence as we work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident on 28 October."

The spokesperson added that another male who was in control of the motorcycle had also suffered serious injuries.
