A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Inverness.
The 71-year-old was struck by a red Mazda 3 car on Thornbush Road shortly after 17:20 on Friday.
She was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
The 18-year-old male driver of the Mazda has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police Scotland have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Sgt Calum MacAulay said: “We would be particularly keen to speak to a potential witness who was the driver of an unidentified silver or grey saloon style car which passed shortly before the incident happened, or to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area."
No-one in the Mazda was hurt.
