Gloucestershire in pics: Decorations fit for a King

Our weekly round-up of pictures includes some capturing the aftermath of Storm Bert, which left heavy flooding in Lydney and other parts of Gloucestershire.

There was also a large celebration on Thursday at RAF Fairford where US personnel marked Thanksgiving.

Over at Highgrove, staff have been preparing the King's country residence for Christmas functions.

Finding their futures: Some 2,000 students from across the county gathered at Cheltenham Racecourse this week for one of the largest career fairs in the country.

Despite the flooding across Gloucestershire following Storm Bert, football players from Lydney Town AFC refused to let the bad weather dampen their spirits. It didn't stop them playing a game, with footage showing players heading the ball back and forth and swimming in floodwater.

Beautiful: A gorgeous sunset captured by BBC Weather Watcher 'SpaceWalker', was sent through to us and it's something we had to share. The way the sunset reflects off the water is stunning.

Royal decorations: Staff at Highgrove have been putting up the decorations at the King's country retreat, where several festive functions will be held between now and Christmas.

Deep and crust and even: Described as, 'breadlehem', the team at Hobbs Bakery in Nailsworth have decided to get into the Christmas spirit with its bread nativity scene. The photo has gone down well online, with one person saying, "They came bearing gold, frankincense and flour."

Home from home: BBC Gloucestershire broadcast live at RAF Fairford, which hosts US Air Force personnel, on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving. The base hosted a large thanksgiving dinner for about 300 people.

Panto time: Tweedy the Clown has been performing in Cheltenham for 13 years - oh yes he has! Once again this year is is clowning around, performing in Aladdin which is on at the Everyman Theatre from now until 12 January.
