Thousands have gathered across the East of England for Armistice Day memorial services.

The many locations where wreaths were laid included the cenotaph in Christchurch Park, Ipswich, the war memorial in Thetford, Norfolk, and the council offices in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

At Merville Barracks in Colchester, members of 16 Air Assault Brigade, the Army's global response force, gathered for a service in a memorial garden.

In hundreds of towns and villages, members of the public, veterans and military personnel joined to remember the fallen.
