Man dies in collision between car and lorry

A man has died in a collision between a lorry and a car near St Neots.

Emergency services were called to the B645, between Hail Weston and Great Staughton, after the collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Mercedes lorry at about 18:40 BST, said Cambridgeshire Police.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man from Rushden, Northamptonshire, died at the scene. His passenger, a 22-year-old woman from St Neots, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the lorry, a 63-year-old man from near Sleaford, Lincolnshire, was uninjured and remained at the scene, said police.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage of it to come forward.
