Films launched to help language learners

The Learning Bites films have been created by the Government of Jersey to help pupils develop their language skills

A series of short films providing support to pupils learning different languages are being launched in Jersey.
The Government of Jersey said the Learning Bites series of films had been created as a resource for parents and schools.
The films will be launched at a Community Language Celebration event at Jersey Library in St Helier on Saturday.
According to the government, about a third of students at mainstream schools were multilingual learners and the aim of the films was to promote language development.
The event at Jersey Library will take place between 10:00 and 12:00 GMT.
It will also include displays from Art House Jersey, music from Jersey Music Service and stories in Jerriais, French, English, and Portuguese.
