Historic house destroyed by fire to be auctioned

A historic house destroyed by fire 10 years ago is to be put up for auction.
Dunain House, near Inverness, dates from the early 18th Century and was extended in 1872.
It was used as a hospital from the 1950s to 1990s and was derelict when a blaze broke out in September 2014.
Shepherd Chartered Surveyors will auction the house on 17 October with a guide price of £295,000.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six fire appliances and an aerial platform vehicle to tackle the blaze.
It took firefighters almost five hours to bring in under control.
SFRS said at the time that thick fog may have prevented the fire from being noticed sooner.
Dunain House was categorised as a B-listed property in the 1970s due its special architectural and historical interest.
After the fire it was designated as C-listed, meaning it is of local importance.
The sale includes almost six acres of grounds.
Neil Calder, partner at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: "Dunain House was extensively damaged by fire in 2014.
"The land around the house site is grassed over with mature woodland beyond.
"The property presents an attractive redevelopment opportunity, subject to securing the appropriate planning consent."
