One of the biggest tourist attractions on the Norfolk coastline has undergone a £1.8m transformation.

The original wooden Britannia Pier was built in Great Yarmouth in 1858 but was demolished in 1899.

A new steel and timber frame was constructed in 1901 - but reopened in its current form in 1958 after a series of devastating fires destroyed the structure.

It was bought by Triangle Amusements in December 2022, with the group applying for planning permission to upgrade the site a year later.

A new amusement arcade and a new facade have been part of the refurbishment, with a second phase of work expected to start in October on the food stalls and cabin.
