A music festival has replaced one of the acts on its bill the day before the event takes place saying "it would not be appropriate for them to perform".

Simple Things, which takes place at various locations around Bristol on Saturday, said it had removed Giant Swan from its line-up.

A statement posted on the festival's social media on Friday said the decision was made "in light of recent details made public" regarding a member of the Bristol duo.

Giant Swan has been approached for comment.

The duo had been due to close the main stage at Bristol Beacon on Saturday night.

Bristol band, Scaler, will replace them.

The statement continued: "All parties have come to the conclusion it would not be appropriate for [Giant Swan] to perform at Simple Things".

The statement did not include any further details.

The festival's return on 24 February following a four-year hiatus is the first time the whole of Bristol Beacon is used for performance at the same time since its £132m rebuild.

Headliners include techno producer Max Cooper, London post-punk band Warmduscher and grime MC Flowdan, alongside a host of Bristol performers, like Kayla Painter, Tlya X An, Saloon Dion, Spectres and ThisisDA.
