A man has appeared in court following an alleged armed robbery at Horncastle Post Office.

Benjamin Johnson, 33, of Tennyson Gardens, Horncastle, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court earlier and was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on Monday 19 August.

Lincolnshire Police launched an investigation following an incident on Monday and issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
