A man has been arrested after an inmate escaped from an open prison.

Thames Valley Police made an appeal to find Naqash Hussain, 34, after he absconded from HMP Springhill in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on 5 May.

On Monday a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being unlawfully at large in connection with the investigation.

Sean Downes, also aged 34, went missing from the facility on the same day, and was apprehended earlier this month.

Downes was also arrested on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody.

The police said they were no longer appealing for information and thanked the public for their assistance.
