A new community landing site has become operational for the Devon Air Ambulance (DAA).
The floodlit landing site enables the charity's helicopter to land at the playing fields of Brentor village.
DAA said the floodlights will allow their specialist clinical team to reach a patient more quickly and in “hours of darkness”.
It is the 199th community landing site to become operational for DAA.
Brentor village hall, playing field committee, parish clerk and Brentor parish council all contributed to the new project.
The site has been installed with a remotely operated, single LED lighting column.
Landing Site Manager for DAA Graham Coates said they have surveyed the playing field to obtain “a better understanding of the key features of the site and the landscape surrounding it before they arrive on scene by helicopter”.
Chair of the Brentor village hall and Playing Field Committee, Sheryl Burroughs said that the landing site “could potentially be lifesaving to anyone needing it in the surrounding area”.
