A man who was found unconscious in Liverpool city centre has died, police have said.

Paramedics found the man, believed to be in his 20s, in Old Hall Street at about 04:35 BST, Merseyside Police said.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

An area near HM Passport Office was cordoned off as police carried out enquiries but they said the man's death was "not initially believed to be suspicious".
