Sir Keir Starmer has said he is "clear in his mind as to the professionalism of the [police] response" to the Manchester synagogue terrorist attack after being shown officers' body-worn camera footage.

His comments came after it emerged one of victims killed in the attack on Thursday at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue was hit by police gunfire.

The prime minister, accompanied by his wife, Victoria, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmoud and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, visited the headquarters of Greater Manchester Police to meet and thank officers and emergency responders earlier.
