A running group supporting teenage girls is expanding its programme.

See Her Run, a Jersey-based group set up for girls in school years 10 to 13, said it was now welcoming year nine girls into its main programme.

The group was launched in September 2024 and offers young people a "safe and supportive" environment to run together twice a week.

Organisers said there were more than 40 members and 12 trained volunteers.

Founder and chair Ceri Tinley said they were thrilled by the response to the programme in its first year.

"We're now building on that success by opening our doors to Year 9 girls and launching our She Starts Here programme to help even more girls discover the joy of running," said Ms Tinley.

"It's open to any girl who wants to run, and the programme will guide them from zero to running 3k by October half term - giving them the confidence and fitness to join our regular weekly runs."

She said they were also launching a new course designed for non-runners called She Starts Here which runs from 11 September through to the end of October 2025.
