Village road to close for £490,000 makeover

Villagers have complained about the state of the road in Little Kelk

A village road will be closed for nine weeks for "essential" repairs.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council said it was spending £490,000 on Main Street, Little Kelk, near Driffield.
Work is due to start later and the road will be closed between Gransmoor Lane and Moor Lane, with a signed diversion route. Access to properties will be maintained.
Councillor Paul West, cabinet member for environment and transport, said it was the second phase of improvements to rural roads in the area following £800,000 of resurfacing work last year.
Residents had complained about potholes and a rutted road surface.
Drains, kerbs and some footpaths will also be improved.
